THE 'BEYOND THE ICE WALL' SERIES BY ANDY ROSS AND JOHN HAMER
..the story behind it and what it's all about!
This series of novels, which has spawned a new literary genre in fact; that of 'conspaction,' is the result of a collaboration between the two authors, Andy Ross and John Hamer.
Whilst this is Andy’s first venture into professional writing, it is in fact John’s latest project spread across fourteen years of being a professional author. Now good friends, they first got together in early 2024 when Andy contacted John for advice and invited him to be co-author on what was Andy’s original idea for an extremely compelling storyline—and John was more than happy to accept once the idea and concept had been proposed to him.
Based on all the intrigue and rumour surrounding Antarctica and the copious evidence that suggests that something extremely secretive and sinister is happening beyond that two-hundred foot ice wall, the series, now two novels strong with a third in the pipeline, takes the reader on a journey like no other.
Partly based on fact and interspersed with plenty of circumstantial evidence coupled with copious amounts of ‘truth’ as well as ‘real’ history, it is a fascinating glimpse into the real-life mysteries of the Antarctic region. It has been constructed around all the information Andy and John unearthed through their many years of research and, although overall the individual stories are fictional, including all the main characters, some of the events are based on actual incidents.
There has been a certain degree of legitimate inference based on little-known facts and apocryphal events. Having said that, it is however important to reiterate that all the main characters, notably Adam Haylock, Sam Dobson (Dobbo), Asiri Mamani and Sarah Arthur are entirely fictional, as are the intertwined stories in which they all play their parts.
Also, we hope it goes without saying that the portrayed outcome of Captain Scott’s Antarctic expedition is also the product of the authors’ very vivid imagination but which is nevertheless a fascinating possibility given the evil machinations that we know take place in this world on a regular basis.
In summary, the series may be regarded as just one possible scenario, reflecting what really goes on beyond the Sixty Degrees South parallel and we, the authors, trust that you, the reader will both appreciate and enjoy the alternative approach to what is truly a real, modern day mystery.
